Japanese bondage – Nawa Shibari – the art of a rope

Erotica promoted to art. The Japanese bondage – object of art which is equivalent to ikebana, bonsai or the tea ritual in Japanese culture.
It is possible to call the Japanese bondage this way – the art of a rope. Artists, so called „Nawakesho“ nowadays, are worshiped with the same respect comparable to the sumo fighters. There is not many of them, we count about only 20 artists who deal with the art of rope and there´s really only few top, real Sensei artists.
Maybe it´s good to mention names as Doctor D. Vice, Akechi Denki, Randa Mai, Osada Eikichi, Chiba Eizoh or Dirty Kudo. They can draw on the 500 years old sources. The historic sources mention that the development of the combat system Hojo-jutsu alias Obaku-jutsu has began in the bloody Shinkoku epoch. It´s been a very specialized art, which has been used for catching the criminals and consequent detention. The technique of tying was different at detention, at the process and at the subsequent punishment. Doing it this way, everyone was able to know easily in which phase the criminal is. Even the punishment, which has been a torurous bind, was different for each crime or social class. This was even more complicated because each village or coutry has had its own special way of tying. When the art of rope as a sexual thing evolved we don´t know. But it´s very likely that the first one to be excited during seeing Obaku-jutsu technique came under the Edo epoch(1600 – 1878).
Nawa Shibari nowadays is not a scary tortural anymore. Even the classic bondage videos which try to present the Japanese bondage that way do not match the reality. Everything is conditionaled on a deal, planned script and the limits - how far this erotical play can come about. Here is suitable to mention that the Japanese bondage falls within the most save techniques in BD/SM.
